We all know what happens when we don’t buy the right jeans….its called Muffin Top Jeans.  If you are one of the few lucky women in America that doesn’t have a Muffin Top, consider yourself very lucky.  For those lucky ones that don’t know what a muffin top is imagine when you cook a muffin. The top of the muffin spills out over the top of the paper casing. Now imagine when you put on a nice pair of jeans and the excess flesh hangs out overboard of the waist band. This embarrassing phenomenon is referred to as your muffin top.

In order to avoid exposing yourself to Muffin Top Jeans we have put together some simple tips to help you find jeans that fit and flatter based on your body type.

How to Avoid Muffin Top Jeans

1. Curvy Figure. If you have a curvy figure you should look for Boot-cuts and flare legs Avoid: The “hipster” low-rise jean should not enter your dressing room! Also, leave behind baggy jeans, which will only make you look larger.

2. Thick Waisted. You should look for a medium-rise waistline will not only avoid the fashion faux pas muffin top, but also detract from the focus on a high waistline. Avoid: Jeans that hit at the waist will bring attention to your largest part. Also stay away from super low-cut jeans, super-skinny leg jeans, and jeans with a light-colored wash.

3. Pear Shaped.  You should look for a mid-rise jean with some pocket detail. Also important: A wider bottom leg to balance your hips.                                                 Avoid: Stay away from high waisted jeans, jeans with no back interest, super-skinny-legged jeans, and jeans that bunch up at the ankles.

4. Boy Shaped. You should look for a taper or a slim, straight leg jean.              Avoid: Baggy jeans, legs that flare too much at the ankle, and wide straight legs.
